General information
Environmental and Plant Biotechnology (EPB) is a unique Master's Degree program offered in English for students from around the world who wish to be in the forefront of biotechnological developments and are enthusiastic about learning in an international and multicultural team.
EPB gives the opportunity to get the knowledge in modern methods of environment preservation, reclamation and use. Students gain the experience and skills in analytical and biotechnological ways to monitor environmental changes, act for bioremediation of polluted water and reclamation of contaminated and degraded post-industrial lands, including sewage utilization and waste management.
After completing the EPB study program, graduates have skills to use a range of state-of-the-art analytical and biotechnological methods to monitor and rationally manage environmental quality. Graduates are prepared to work in industrial laboratories and research institutions utilizing biotechnological approaches. They are competent to start up business or to be recruited by administrative units and local governments, workplaces, and other entities. They are also qualified to consult industry, farmers, extension specialists, investors and policy makers in formulating appropriate Environmental Protection packages based on biotechnological methods as elements of the environment-friendly policy

Our objectives
Our graduates are able to find work in the offices of the State Forests administration, in community-based forest administration and with other forest owners, in national parks and landscape parks, in forest management companies, at the schools and universities running forestry syllabi and courses and at forestry research institutes and other institutions engaged in both forest and area management.

Programme admission criteria
1. Candidates applying for admission into a postgraduate programme in a field that differs from their undergraduate studies must first earn at least 50% of the total number of credits available in the core and elective subjects included in the corresponding undergraduate curriculum. These candidates must submit an undergraduate diploma supplement showing all the core and elective subjects they covered during their undergraduate studies.
2. A candidate not meeting the requirement set forth in section 1 above may be asked to attend paid courses in such subjects as they need to cover in order to meet that requirement. However, this option will be only available when the number of such make-up courses is no higher than five. The fee charged for participation in the make-up courses will be equivalent to the fee charged for repeating the relevant course within a full- or part-time undergraduate programme, as published in the Rector's Regulation valid at the time.

Our objectives
Agroecology is a modern approach to agriculture, where farming considers not only economic aspects but also widely understood ecological needs of the agrocenoses and adjoining areas. Contemporary farmer should possess extensive knowledge on plants and animals in rural areas and be aware of the relationships between living organisms and the natural environment.
Implementation of the rules of ecology into agricultural practice will allow for obtaining safe and healthy food.
While realizing study programme a graduate will acquire knowledge about the impact of agricultural activity on the environment, organic systems of farming and food production but also on multifunctional rural development and economic aspects of these processes, which improves employment opportunities in the European Union institutions.

General information
Studies in Agroecology are offered as a two-year (4 semesters) programme, a specialization within the Environmental Protection. The programme comprises thematic areas (modules) addressing a variety of issues, including agricultural activity impact on the environment, organic systems of farming and food production, multifunctional rural development and economic aspects of these processes. Each module is composed of lectures, seminars and laboratory classes. About one third of all courses is optional.
We welcome the graduates from first degree programmes such as Bachelor (BA or BSc.) in: Protection of the Natural Environment, Horticulture, Economics, Biology, Food Technology or other fields of Agriculture.
All candidates should present a language certificate from a well recognized language school or will be requested to take an examination in English at the University of Agriculture.
Admission numbers to Agroecology Programme have been limited to 15 persons, which will ensure individual working relations between students and teachers. Students progress is evaluated on the basis of their active participation in and contribution to the programme. The programme concludes with Master Thesis leading to a Magister degree in Agroecology with a note that the programme was taught in English..

General Information
Graduates in Food Technology and Human Nutrition are equipped with knowledge and skills in technical, technological, nutritional, and economic science. They are educated to be specialists experienced in food processing, food preservation, and storage as well as in food quality control. The graduates can therefore occupy engineering positions in enterprises, companies, or institutions engaged in the processing, control, or distribution of food as well as be employed as specialists in human nutrition. Graduates are skilled to organize production, including machinery and equipment selection, and perform economic analyses. They know the principles of the food market and product marketing as well as services which relate to the food technology and human nutrition.

Our objectives
Primary aim of Bioengineering in Animal Science study is to train specialists with knowledge and skills in: (i) planning and organization of breeding, (ii) genetic engineering and molecular diagnostics, (iii) reproduction biotechniques, such as in vitro fertilization methods, microsurgery methods of oocyte fertilization, embryo culture methods, extracorporeal maturation of embryos, animal cloning, transgenesis, cryopreservation of oocytes and embryos, cytogenetic and molecular methods used in genetic diagnostics, (iv) cell and tissue culture methods and (v) methods of animal production. The graduates are able to communicate accurately with the various stakeholders in the verbal, written and graphical form. They can independently take decisions, organize teamwork, serve as managers as well as undertake to establish and run their own business. The graduates of this specialty can apply modern analytical methods used in research in the field of animal science. They are prepared for a professional career in research institutes (especially related to animal reproduction and animal science), the supervision of breeding and insemination services, farm companies, agricultural advisory centers, state and local government, and many other institutions of broadly defined agricultural services and after completing pedagogical education – can be employed in agricultural education. The graduates are fully prepared for independent research and taking up the third degree studies (PhD).

Applicants for admission to second degree (MA) in the field of Animal Science (specialty: Bioengineering in Animal Science) should hold first university degree of studies in the field of Animal Husbandry or Animal Science. All candidates should present a language certificate from a well-recognized language school or will be requested to take an examination in English at the University of Agriculture.

General Information
The University of Krakow and Slovak Agriculture University of Nitra are the partner institutions cooperating in a joint international educational programme, the “International Master Double Degree Program in Business Economics.”
The master program “International Master Double Degree Program in Business Economics” lasts four semesters (120 ECTS). The first semester of the program is attended at the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. The second semester will be attended at the University of Agriculture in Krakow, third semester of the master program have to be attended at the Slovak University of Nitra. The fourth semester is assigned to one course at the University of Agriculture in Krakow and the preparation of the master thesis at the home university.

Our objectives
Graduates of the international master double degree program in Business Economics are able to analyze complex economic relations in business processes, propose and implement managerial decisions related to functioning of those processes. They apply a high degree of autonomy and creativity at managerial decision making. They command a deep knowledge not only from operative business management but also from the area of strategic decisions from viewpoint of globalization and economy as well.
